Let Some Spill, 2023
This work explores water’s utilitarian and allegorical nature. Imitating 18th century delftware I studied the “puzzle jug.” I was interested in
how unusually the water behaved in the vessel. Via a hidden passage in the handle the drinker avoids the holes and uses the spouts as straws. Let Some Spill, Puzzle Jug, has rhyming instructions on the surface. I am interested in this relationship between the user drinking and the object holding the liquid. I enjoy that humour and challenge could spark conversation and enjoyment.
